Heidi Anderson is a radio presenter on Hit92.9, a columnist for PerthNow and a former reality TV star. But what many people didn’t know until recently is that she had been enduring a long and exhausting battle with anxiety that often made getting through the simplest daily tasks a living nightmare for the Perth celebrity.
After going public about her ongoing battle with anxiety, Heidi also decided to visit the Brain Wellness Spa (BWS). She was compelled to try it for herself after reading many positive reviews and watching the testimonial videos of our past clients, detailing their remarkable results overcoming anxiety.

We recently sat down with Heidi to ask her about her battle with anxiety and how BWS therapy has helped to transform her life.
Hi Heidi, Can you explain a little more about what were the biggest triggers of your anxiety? I lived with anxiety daily, so I have many triggers… Stress, work, people, behaviours, situations, etc… It really varies.
Which area of your life was most affected by anxiety? My entire life has been affected at times. Last year was the toughest, when all parts of my life were affected – including my work, relationships, social life, everything. It was a tough time.
What did anxiety stop you from doing or achieving? Being the best I could be at my job. I was having panic attacks in the middle of the radio show. It stopped me from feeling my best and being confident in all areas of life. I was overthinking everything.
Can you describe the feelings and thoughts you experienced due to your anxiety? I had loads of thoughts about dying but the biggest feeling was like being on a merry go round in my head about anything and everything. From conversations, to something I did or said, the way I spoke on radio, exercise, food…. everything. I was obsessed.
What was the tipping point that made you speak up about how you were feeling and seek professional help? My boss asked me to write down what anxiety was and how I felt as she didn’t understand and thought others might be the same. So I did, and a few months later I read that out on air. That changed my life, I started to heal. Being open and honest was the best thing I did.
What questions did you have before first contacting Terri and BWS to help overcome your anxiety? I wasn’t sure about it to be honest and I was confused as to how it would all work!
Why did you decide to try BWS? I wanted to try Brain Wellness Spa after reading all the reviews.
Can you explain the process of going through the BWS anxiety program from the first session until now? It has been great. I still have up and down moments in life and can still be affected by stress, but it is only a small percentage compared to before. I feel much more confident in myself, the way I handle things and I don’t hold on to issues now. I can let them go.
How did you feel after your first BWS session? Bloody amazing. I smiled all the way home and my mind was free from clutter and crap. Never felt better to be honest!
How did you feel after each session? Did you experience different emotions/feelings/relief after particular sessions? Yes, all different emotions. Some sessions felt much clearer than others. The whole experience is just great for the soul. It’s very relaxing and freeing and I feel like part of the family and so welcomed by staff.
How many sessions did it take before you felt the real impact? After the very first one!
What specific tools, lessons and techniques has the program taught you that have helped you to deal with anxiety? Processing situations and my reactions. I am very aware now too.
What would you say to anyone suffering from anxiety today? The first and best thing to do is talk about it and open up to people that you have anxiety. The weight off your shoulders after that is incredible and then do what is best for you. I try different things and take a little from each – affirmations, meditation, exercise, reading, seeing a psychologist and of course coming here to the Brain Wellness Spa has definitely given me the ability and tools to let go of my anxiety.
What would you say to someone sceptical about whether a program like the one here at BWS can help them? Just try it! There is nothing to lose. It might not work for you but if you go into it with an open mind you might surprise yourself. It has helped me in ways I never imagined and I am so grateful to Terri and the team.
