Understanding The Burnout Experience

The feelings of burnout are commonly referred to as the physical and psychological consequences of highly demanding, stressful jobs on employees.

Although Burnout can be experienced in any profession nowadays, however, it is commonly found in professionals who have to put the needs of others over their own. Jobs such as medicine, police work and firefighting have more people succumbing to this condition.

One of the chief reasons, that burnout is experienced is due to one’s over-expectation of oneself and feeling that whatever they are doing is not enough.

Signs & Symptoms of Burnout

Although burnout happens gradually over time, it can creep upon us and we won’t even realise its occurrence. The signs and symptoms are subtle at the start, but become worse over time.

This is why it’s important that we pay close attention to the early symptoms of burnout and take steps to address it actively.

Here are some of the most common symptoms of burnout:

Research has shown that women are more vulnerable to burnout conditions than men because they tend to have less authority and are less likely to call the shots which can lead to increased frustration and stress and diminished well-being.

Our professionally guided virtual sessions are just as successful as our face-to-face sessions! Call us to know more
We offer a natural and drug-free approach to mental health. You will work closely, one-on-one with an experienced facilitator who takes you through our process in a private, relaxing room. There is no need to relive your past if you do not want to. We do not need to know this in order to assist you. You simply sit back, relax, put on your headphones and listen to relaxing music specially designed to calm you.
Burnout is serious and is not just the result of working long hours. But it may be work related when you feel continually feel overworked or are not working to your capacity. Also when you feel stressed for long periods of time, it can lead to mental and emotional exhaustion and burnout. Working with us one-on-one to reduce your stress may help you recover from burnout or avoid it altogether.
When you are burnt out you can have physical and other symptoms. Common symptoms of burnout include:
  • feeling constantly fatigued
  • trouble concentrating and remembering things
  • changes to sleep patterns
  • complete exhaustion
  • difficulty making decisions
  • low on energy
  • unable to take the initiative and a lack of imagination.
The physical symptoms of burnout can include:

  • loss of interest in sex
  • tiredness
  • back pain
Other signs of burnout include:
